Shelter

This book, translated by Ana Bejarano and Érica Consoli, includes texts by ten Israeli and international authors, written in response to the events of October 7 in Israel.

The Israeli Institute for Hebrew Literature (IIHL) published Shelter in 2023, a bilingual anthology in Hebrew and English (edited by Oded Wolkstein and Maayan Eitan), which Nagrela Editores now presents in Spanish. This book includes texts by ten Israeli and international authors, written in response to the events of October 7. The pieces produced for this anthology constitute literary, visceral and sophisticated attempts to confront a reality that threatens the very possibility of representation, conceptualization and discourse. Although varied in their perspectives and styles, these texts provide the reader with a "literary set of intellectual and emotional survival," and a community with which to share the pain and suffering, and with which to find the appropriate language to talk about them.
