The Yiddish Police Union
This novel imagines an alternate history in which Jewish refugees and their descendants have lived peacefully in the federal district of Sitka, a temporary United States dependent space, in Alaska.
The murder of a charismatic member of the Jewish community will serve to reveal the powerful hidden forces that its inhabitants manage, as well as the analytical capacity of the fabulous detective Meyer Landsman.
The author received the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2001 for "The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay."
