Visit of the Spain Adventure CSP Group
Last October 19, a group from the US shared Kabalat Shabbat with us.
This is how they began their 2023 Spain Adventure organized by CSP and the Jewish Community Foundation of Orange County, California.
We had a packed synagogue for a service led by Noam and a very inspiring commentary offered by Rafa.
The group sent these words through Arie Katz, founder of this organization.
"On our recent visit to ATID, the Masorti community of Barcelona, we participated in the services and shared dinner with a very warm and welcoming community.
It was a truly enriching experience. We were especially impressed by the teenagers leading the ritual and loved meeting Rabbi Irene Muzás Calpe.
It was especially meaningful for our group to be in community at this time when Israel is waging war against Hamas, and when anti-Semitism has sadly grown so dramatically around the world. This experience added a contemporary and moving dimension to our foray into Spain's Jewish heritage, emphasizing resilience and continuity."
When they said goodbye, a couple told us that they had just begun their trip and they already knew that this experience would be unbeatable!
