Presentation of the book Jedwabne
In Atid, our beloved Jewish community in Barcelona, on January 19 we had the privilege of receiving a visit from David Serrano, author of the impressive book "Jedwabne". That day, we immerse ourselves together in a deep exploration of the plot, which reveals the extent to which human evil can go, including the perpetration of mass murder.
Serrano shared with us his exhaustive research and reflections on the events described in his work, providing us with a richer vision of the dark reality he addresses. In our conversations, we not only examined Jedwabne's story, but also asked fundamental questions about human nature and its capacity to commit heinous acts.
The experience at Atid, especially on January 19, became a vital space for collective reflection, reminding us of the importance of understanding our history and learning from it to prevent such tragedies from being repeated in the future. Together, we explore the limits of human evil and renew our commitment to building a world where understanding and respect overcome the darkness of the past.
