UNITED FOR LIFE Roques Blanques Cemetery
The company Altima Servicios Funerarios organized an event to join an initiative of the Latin American Association of Cemeteries and Funeral Services (ALPAR) that was held in several countries around the world. I participated on behalf of Atid along with representatives of the confessions present in Catalonia: Islamic, Catholic, Evangelical, Bahá'í, Hindu and Sikh.
We were invited to present a short prayer for the deceased along with other words of our choice. I read the “El Male Rachamim” and gave a short explanation of what the “Kaddish” means to us. For me, the most significant thing about “Kaddish” is that, in moments that arouse very strong emotions, we limit ourselves to expressing our amazement before God. Therefore, I have read a translation in Spanish, so that you can appreciate the special flavor of this prayer.
The site of the Roques Blanques cemetery, owned by Altima, is of remarkable beauty, with good views of Montserrat, interesting designs of different burial styles and a very placid environment. There is already a Bahá'í and an Islamic campus here. The staff behaved in a very professional, friendly and respectful manner.
Altima Servicios Funerarios is a company that collaborates with our community and already manages cemeteries, crematoriums and funeral homes throughout Catalonia. The other company of this nature with representation throughout the Spanish state is Servicios Funerarios Mémora.
