Yom Hashoa 2018

To commemorate this important date of our Luaj we have had two events.

First of all, we had the honor to hear the story of Dory Sontheimer and his family through his story about the 8 boxes. On Wednesday, the day of Yom Hashoá, we attended a conference in Atid in which the author explained about one of the darkest episodes in the history of humanity through the perspective of her own family.

It has been a very interesting and enriching conference, for which we will be eternally grateful to Dory.

To conclude the commemorative acts, on Sunday 15 we met more than 50 people in the Fossar de la Pedrera to share the reading of texts and prayers, the lighting of the 6 candles of remembrance and ending with the release of balloons with wishes for all the humanity in charge of the children of our community.

It was a very meaningful act in which we concluded by singing the Hatikva and saying in unison 'Am Israel Jai VeKaiam'.
